Professional Dental Cleaning
Long-term, regular professional dental cleaning prevents caries and avoids periodontal treatment. By analysing saliva, tooth condition, dental hygiene and eating habits we can put together an individual preventive program just for you.
We offer a range of specific therapies according to need: intensive teeth cleaning and polishing, hardening of tooth enamel with fluoride varnish, fissure sealing or removal of recesses and overhanging filling edges at risk from bacteria.
And whenever standard polishing methods cant remove the toughest stains, we bring out our EMS Airflow to get the job done.
Parodontitis, also known as periodontosis, is an inflammatory bacterial disorder of the periodontium via infection from parodontitis bacteria. It frequently occurs as a result of inflammation of the gums (gingivitis), whose warning signs are swelling, bad breath, redness and bleeding. Consequences of parodontitis are receding gums, formation of deep gum pockets and breakdown of the jawbone, leading to loss of teeth.
Parodontitis can cause serious problems in the entire organism, something that is often underestimated. The risk of heart attack, stroke and premature birth is much higher in parodontitis patients.
Choosing the right therapy depends on detailed clinical and X-ray findings and making the resulting diagnosis.
A condition of permanent successful treatment is comprehensive, consistent oral hygiene at home, regular participation in our prevention program, plus professional dental cleaning.
We can pinpoint and then combat the causative agents by way of a specific bacteria test. An interleukin-1 genetic test determines your level of genetic risk from parodontitis.
In cases of chronic periodontitis, which is already showing advanced bone decomposition, we administer the enamel matrix protein Emdogain™. In a procedure this is inserted into bone pockets and lesions and onto the cleaned root surface, resulting in regeneration of dental tissue (reconstitution of periodontal structures and bones).
Whenever dental disease is already affecting the pulp (nerve and small blood vessels) this has to be removed so root canal treatment can be carried out. Often this is the only chance we have to preserve an affected tooth.
This treatment requires special preparation: The most important is the time-intensive preparation of the root canal walls to remove and flush out all inflammatory germs.
When tooth preservation is important, the next step is clean, hermetic sealing and root canal filling using a dental dam. Your tooth gets a long life and can sometimes be used to anchor other dental prostheses.
Ongoing X-ray check-up of root-treated teeth is very important.
The innovative and high-quality filling materials we use today can be tailored individually to your personal requirements.
Depending on what’s needed, you can opt for a basic solution (plastic filling) or a more sophisticated solution (indirect filling).
With the basic level of care the tooth is functionally sealed by using a composite, amalgam or dental cement filling. Indirect, high-quality fillings include gold and ceramic fillings.
Special impression techniques and analysis of the state of your jaw form the basis of made-to-measure solutions produced in a professional dental laboratory.
The fillings are completed at a second appointment using the highest technical effort and detailed precision work.
Direct Inlay Technique
Because our aim is to look after you in the best possible and most comfortable way, we use direct inlay technique to mend smaller caries defects.
The advantage of these palladium-free fillings containing a high proportion of gold is both the option of direct wax-up and fast delivery within 24 hours.
Because of their unlimited lifetime, fillings are especially suitable for children or teenagers. This filling technique is also suitable for adults, allowing for later occlusion of root-treated teeth.
Fixed Dental Prostheses
Fixed dental prostheses in the form of crowns, onlays, overlays or bridges are a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing type of treatment for badly damaged teeth or gaps between teeth.
The prosthesis is made in a professional dental laboratory and then cemented in place in our clinic.
One special form is the partially removable prosthesis used in implant-abutments. It really feels like you have your own teeth back again. And we can unscrew it, clean it, even enhance it, whenever you want.
Combined Dental Prostheses
Also, when there is minimal remaining dentition we can restore chewing surface performance.
Combining both fixed and removable prostheses is highly complex and presents a special challenge. A standard procedure here involves telescopic restoration which allows for later expansion options.
Using specific types of anchoring ensures that your other natural teeth are anchored long-term in the jaw.
Removable Dental Prostheses
When it comes to total prosthodontics we also place high value on permanently satisfactory performance and aesthetics.
Given your individual situation and based on results from mucous membranes, tongue and cheek musculature as well as analysis of tooth arrangement, we then make our optimal tooth selection.
Properly fitting and firmly seated total prostheses act as natural reconstruction means with a high level of performance.
Beautiful, healthy teeth are an important factor in quality of life, reflecting joie de vivre and vitality and contributing to your well-being and general health.
Ceramic veneers are used to correct crooked, spaced, stained or twisted teeth. A special bond with the tooth (adhesive implanting) provides very high strength and lifelong durability.
The advantage of veneers over crowns is that very little of the tooth enamel has to be polished off (microinvasive procedure).
In terms of all-important aesthetics, all-ceramic prostheses are a sustainable and attractive alternative. An all-ceramic solution has the same translucence as natural tooth enamel and is fully biocompatible.
Everybody has his or her own natural tooth colour.
Bleaching (tooth bleaching) is used to brighten natural tooth colour by one or more shades. In consultation with you we decide to what extent bleaching is an attractive option.
We recommend professional dental cleaning prior to the brightening session.
In my practice we use chair-side office bleaching (Zoom). This is a particularly safe, effective and fast process. It takes just one hour for your teeth to become much whiter. A tooth-brightening gel is applied and is then illuminated by a special lamp. The lamp activates hydrogen peroxide, fixing it in the surface of the tooth.
Implants are synthetic tooth roots which firmly anchor the denture.
The implant is inserted into the jawbone, grows with the bone and effectively takes over as the original tooth root.
Implants prevent ongoing bone atrophy following tooth loss. The body’s own bone and soft tissue remain intact.
When natural teeth are lost this technique is a safe alternative, even under challenging conditions.
High-quality materials and highly refined techniques used today promise considerable stability and durability. They make no difference to your own natural teeth.
Under special circumstances, we can also insert instant
This means that the tooth root is extracted and the implant is inserted in just one session.
We have been specializing in implantology since 2010.

Healthy teeth are no accident.
In a child’s early years, the foundations are laid for good dental and oral hygiene. Our aim is to promote your child’s oral hygiene by way of information, motivation and individual prevention from the very first tooth.
This is why we recommend regular dental check-ups, early assessment of individual caries risk, dental cleaning and timely detection of logopaedic and orthodontic dysfunctions so your child can be assured of optimal speech development. We offer prophylaxis for children, fissure sealing (sealing of chewing surfaces using a liquid synthetic) and minimal invasive filling therapy.
Sedation / Analgesic SedationIn collaboration with anaesthesiologist Dr. Peter Riss we conduct more-complex procedures under analgesic sedation as per www.narkosepraxis-riss.de.
Analgesic sedation is a procedure tailored individually to your situation, and gently puts you in a semi-conscious state.
Even though you feel no pain or anxiety and have no conscious awareness, you can still communicate with the doctor.
And because analgesic sedation is perfectly safe, you can return to your original state of consciousness immediately after the sedation period set by your doctor is up, without any side effects whatsoever.
